How to Move Around a Word Document
I will get into the details of creating a Word document in future lessons. I will explain how to create headings and paragraphs, how to bold, underline, and much more. For now, I will just say that once you have opened Word, all you have to do to begin creating a document is type. The following list explains how to move around your Word document.
Move to a Specific Place: If you want to move to a specific location in a document, click that location. Then, if you want to insert text, begin typing.
Move around a Document: Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to move around a document. Press the Down-Arrow key to move down. Press the Right-Arrow key to move right. Press the Up-Arrow key to move up. Press the Left-Arrow key to move left.
Move to the Beginning or Move to the End of a Line: Press the Home key to move to the beginning of a line. Press the End key to move to the end of a line.
Move to the Beginning or Move to the End of a Document: Hold down the Ctrl key while you press the Home key to move to the beginning of a document. This is usually written as Ctrl+Home. Hold down the Ctrl key while you press the End key to move to the end of a document. This is usually written as Ctrl+End.
Move Up or Move Down a Screen: Press Page Up to move up to the previous screen. Press Page Down to move down to the following screen.
Move Up or Move Down a Paragraph: Hold down the Ctrl key while you press the Up-Arrow to move up to the previous paragraph. This is usually written as Ctrl+Up-Arrow. Hold down the Ctrl key while you press the Down-Arrow to move down to the next paragraph. This is usually written as Ctrl+Down-Arrow.
